HOW DO I KNOW???
ALS I guess you can say it sneaks up on you in you think about it. The first systems may be barly noticed. As your nerve cells die it worsens. Your muscles stop acting and reacting. As it gets worse you arms, shoulders and tounge muscle will twitch. The worste is swallowing, speaking and breatheing may become difficult. You will most likely become fatigued trying to carry on your everyday life with ALS.

HOW DID I GET THIS??
ALS strikes people between the ages of 40 and 60. Young people can also get ALS, but men are more common to get it then women. The gene for ALS is inherited from only one parent. The specific genetic defect that leads to mutation of the enzymes known as superoxide dismutase 1. This mutation provides clues to motor neuron death in ALS. Chromosome 9 is where a rare form of ALS is formed. 5 to 10 percent of all ALS in inherited.

WILL I EVER GET HELP?
They haven't found a cure for ALS but they have treatments that you can get to help fight the disease. Hopfully in the future they will find a cure or a way to kill it all together, alot of lives can be saved.
